Today I created a simple recipe because when I tried to find a recipe for avocado toast I couldn’t find the exact one that would suit me. I decided to create my own recipe and I love it. 5 Room Hacks

5RH Title.jpgHey guys. Today I wanted to show you 5 rooms hacks that will help keep your room neat and organized. I gathered these hacks from time and found they really helped me keep my room neat and everything was organized. If you enjoy this blog post, follow ExploreAesthetic for more posts like this.

IMG_20170608_170017.jpg

  1. Belt/ Scarf Holder

This first hack is to use a simple clothespin to hold your belts or scarves. All you have to do is coil your belt or scarf up and pin it with a clothespin. I found this hack saves space and looks very neat. I used belts for this hack but you can  also use scarves.

IMG_20170608_170008.jpg2. Clay Ring Holder

The next hack is making a ring holder out of clay. I was going to buy one online but then I realized if I just used some clay I had laying around, I could make my own. You can make just a simple ring holder, but I went with a cactus mold. It is very simple yet it looks very nice in a room. All you do is mold the clay into whatever shape you want and set it up. You can bake it so it won’t move, but I didn’t have a problem with that so I just kept it as it was.

3. Shoe BinsIMG_20170608_170221.jpg

This hack may seem very simple and straightforward, but it is efficient. Putting shoes you don’t wear too often in a bin saves space and looks very neat, rather than having them in shoeboxes. I used to have several pairs of shoes in shoe boxes and it took up a bunch of closet space. This hack gives you back room and looks great.

IMG_20170608_170034.jpg

4.  Book Crate

This hack is for when you want to display your books in a creative way. I got a simple crate and stored my books in it and found out it looks amazing, while keeping my books organized. Also, I’ve been thinking about making another book recommendations, so leave a comment letting me know if you want me to make another one.

IMG_20170608_170110.jpg

5. Office Supply Makeup Storage

This hack was very convenient for me because school was over and I had my locker storage bins ready for organization. I stored some of my makeup products on a shelf but they kept falling over constantly. Putting them in a bin helped me get to my makeup faster and easier.

DIY Fishbowl Plant

DIY FBP title

Hey guys. Sorry I haven’t been on in a while. I was very busy with school, but now that it’s summer, I am able to write more. Today I wanted to show you guys a DIY Fishbowl pot/ plant. This idea isn’t mine on my own, but I have done things to mine to make it unique. I have seen it on Pinterest but I did my own little twist to make it more for me. I hope you guys enjoy this blog post and be sure to follow ExploreAesthetic for more like it.

IMG_20170530_161010.jpg

Main Materials

  • A fishbowl (or any bowl that you please, just make sure it can hold water)
  • Potting Soil
  • Any seeds/ plants that you choose\
  • Optional: Fairy Lights or Rocks/ Marbles

IMG_20170530_161022.jpg

Instructions

  1. Put some of the potting soil into a clean fishbowl. You want it about a little over a quarter full.
  2.  Add seeds or plants to the soil as instructions showIMG_20170530_161245.jpg
  3. Add Marbles or Rocks if desired
  4. Water the plants and let them sit in a sunny area.

OPTIONAL: Add fairy lights or paint to customize your fishbowl plant. You can get really creative here.

That is it! This DIY is so simple yet so creative. If you had a fish in the past and still have that fish bowl laying around,

IMG_20170602_112931.jpg

this would be the perfect way to use it. Also, this is a pretty cheap project. The bowl I got from Walmart was around $6 and seeds are a little over a dollar. The soil you can find in your IMG_20170602_112938.jpgown backyard so this project rounds to $7.50 total. This was a fun project and added a earthy touch to my room.

3 Easy Breakfast Ideas

Breakfast Title.jpg

Hey guys. Today I wanted to show you 3 easy breakfast ideas that you can quickly make in the morning. Many of these ideas include a staple food that you can add many healthy things to. All these ideas are vegetarian and have healthy ingredients to give you a boost in the morning. If  you enjoy this blog post, be sure to leave a like.

  1. Cereal

This may sound basic and obvious, but if you get whole grain cereal, it can be very healthy and simple for the morning. Simple grain cereal is a staple food for these breakfast ideas. You can add fruit, brown sugar, nuts, yogurt, milk, orange juice, etc. There are so many healthy options that will give you that positive boost in the morning. Try to avoid those sugary cereals you see at the store. Not only are they unhealthy, they can make you get all energized in the morning and then leave you with no energy for the rest of the day. Things
like fruits and dairy keep energy with you the whole day.

BreadEgg Pan.jpg2. Eggs and Toast

This breakfast item is a bit more time consuming but it takes less than 10 minutes to make. I have seen this style of eggs and toast on Pinterest and other areas and thought it was pretty simple to make and could be a good on the go breakfast idea. All you have to do for this breakfast is heat up a sprayed pan and cut a hole out of you bread. Then, lay the bread on the pan and crack  a egg inside the hole. Let it cook and flip it over to get it fully cooked. Add salt and pepper if wanted. This has more steps than cereal but is quick and easy and makes a great breakfast meal. The eggs are great protein and the bread is a healthy grain.

3. Oats in a BowlOats.jpg

This idea also seems like a pretty straight forward breakfast but is a great alternative for slow cooking meals. Just like cereal, oats are a staple ingredient. You can really customize what you want inside your bowl of oats like yogurt, fruits, brown sugar, orange juice, and pretty much anything healthy you would like. Oatmeal is also a option but sometimes there are other random ingredients added to it that aren’t as healthy. Making it from scratch is easier and you know whats inside. Making a big bowl of oats to keep in the fridge for a couple of days is a easy way to scoop some of your oats and yogurt and go.

Winter Essentials (Part 2)

WE Title.jpg

Hey guys. A little while back I wrote a Winter Essentials post. Since there was many different essentials, I decided to split the post into two parts. This is the second part of Winter Essentials. I hope you enjoy this post and be sure to leave a like.

  1. Candles Candle.jpg

Winter is very brisk and cold and I tend to stay in my warm house all day. One of my favorite things to do in the wintertime is light candles. Most of my candles come from Bath and Body works but I have a few from other places. Candles are very relaxing and makes my room smell amazing. In this picture, I was burning a candle called In from the Cold by Sonoma. I have been thinking of doing a candle update post so let me Blankets.jpgknow if you want me to do that.

2. Blankets

Blankets in the winter are my top priority. A soft blanket or a light cable knit throw is the perfect accessory for beds. Not only that, but they keep you warm and comfy. I love having a blanket on me when doing most things at home because it makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. (I am using a blanket while writing this post!) The blanket in this photo is a red cable knit blanket from Ralph Lauren. I love throwing blankets on my bed because they look great and they keep you warm at night.Socks.jpg

3. Socks
During the winter, I never leave my house without socks on. Socks are amazing because they are a staple clothing items to whatever outfit. My favorite way to style socks is with combat boots and long, patterned socks. I also love wearing fuzzy socks inside my house to keep my feet warm and cozy. The majority of my socks come from American
Eagle and I love their patterns. Socks in winter are a must.

WE Books.jpg4. Books

When I have a lazy winter day where I just want to stay in my warm house and relax, I love picking up a good book to read. Books are a great way to unwind and let someone else do the thinking for you. Staying comfy in a bed with a book in your hands is perfect for a cold winter day. I have been reading lots of great motivational books that help me get through the days of snow. If you want to know some of the books I have been reading, check out my Book Recommendations post.

January Favorites

January Fav Title.jpgHey guys. Sorry this went out a little late; I’ve been busy and I had one blog post ahead of this one. These 5 items are my January Favorites that I’ve used throughout the month. I Cafineated Stick.jpghope you enjoy this blog post and try these items out for yourself.

  1. Caffeinated Eye Stick

Since Christmas, I have been using a product by perfectly posh called the Caffeinator. This has been my go to product in the morning because it is full of lemon essential oils and rosemary that wake me up and the clear the area of my dark circles. All I have to do is swipe the stick under and above my eyes and it tightens up the bags under my eyes. You can shop this product here.

staying-strong2. Staying Strong by Demi Lovato

Although I have already talked about this book in my Book Recommendations Blog Post, I love this book so much I wanted to bring it up again. I am not going to talk about it a lot since my other blog post talks about it more, but this book is so inspiring and uplifting. Everyday of the year, there is a quote with a paragraph telling you advice to get you through the day. You can Elephant Can.jpgget this book here.

3. Elephant Watering Can

Ok, this may be a weird thing to be in a favorites, but I am a huge fan of this watering can. I love keeping plants in my room, but they are very small and if I used a regular watering can, I would leave  huge mess. I came across this cute elephant watering can and had to get it. The hole in the trunk where the water comes out is very small so it fits in tight spaces with small plants. Also, the can is a good size and keeps water for at least a month before refilling it. I got this elephant here.

Brow Products.jpg4. Eyebrow Products

These two products are together as one because I thought they work well together. One of my favorite features to do on my face is fill in my eyebrows. I have been using Benefit’s “Ka Brow!” eyebrow cream and Rimel’s “Brow This Way” eyebrow wax. I pair these two together and they work great. They last all day and give a natural coverage to my eyebrows. Although the Benefit eyebrow cream is more on the pricey side, it works great and will last you a long time. I was informed about the eyebrow wax by watching Zoella’s monthly favorites and you can purchase it at a local drugstore. You can get the eyebrow cream here. You can get the eyebrow wax  here.Workout Mat.jpg

5. Yoga/ Workout Mat

I love working out and doing yoga on mats but sometimes they are too thin and hurt doing things on hardwood floor. I found this Gold’s Gym workout mat at Walmart. It is super thick and is great for doing crunches and yoga. I use it almost everyday and is in good shape. It was on sale so if wanted, I would get it soon. You can get this mat here.

These are my January Favorites. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and if you did, like, comment and follow ExploreAesthetic for more Monthly Favorites and much more.

5 Work/ School Hacks

5-hacks-title

Hey guys. Today I wanted to show you 5 hacks that can help you get ready for work or school easier and quicker. These hacks are very simple, but can help you in the long run.

  1. Outfit Chart.jpgOutfit Board

I created a outfit board because I was always wasting time and struggling to find a outfit to wear in the morning. If you create a outfit board and list what you want to wear everyday for the week (I usually do it on Sunday), all you have to do is grab it out of your closet and put it on! I made my outfit board with a chalkboard and chalk. I divided it with the 5 days of the week and wrote down what I was going to wear that week.

2. Beauty Care LabelingLabeling.jpg

In the morning, it could be stressful trying to master your makeup and skincare routine
with such little time. Knowing what to do first when completing your routine could be helpful. Adding label stickers marked with numbers on your products can help you know what to do first if you are tired in the morning and can’t focus. Also putting your products in a organized area with a mirror can be a easier way to keep everything together and ready to put on.

Writing.jpg3. Homework/ Work Paper
Writing down what homework or job work you need to get done throughout the week can be a great way to get rid of stress and stay organized. I usually write down the stuff I need to do on a regular piece of paper but sometimes I put it on my display thread. If you get a certain work task every week, make a weekly work chart to know what you have to get done for the week.Calendar.jpg

4. Calendar

Although most people know this, a calendar can be your best friend. Writing down specific things on days can help you keep track of what you need to do for that day. All you have to do each morning is look at it everyday to see if you have anything important needed to be done. Keeping a calendar in your room will you you on your toes and organized for school or work.

Backpack.jpg5. Backpack

Keeping a bag to store all your work and necessities is really important. Keeping everything together and neat can help you relieve stress and let you know what you need for each day. The night before, get everything together in your bag so when you wake up in the morning, you will be ready to go.

I hope these simple hacks and tips help you get through work or school faster and easier. If you enjoyed this post, leave a like and follow exploreaesthetic for more posts like this.

3 DIYS

title.jpg

Hey guys. This post is 3 DIYS that are common, but get the job done. I don’t use exact measurements in the DIYS because they aren’t precise. Today I have recipes for a lip scrub, a face mask, and a hair mask. I hope you enjoy these DIYS and try them out for yourself.LS Title.jpg

  1. Lip Scrub

This DIY is so simple but makes you lips so soft and smooth. You can keep it anywhere and stays fresh for a while. All you need for this DIY is:

lip-scrub-ingredients1 Part Sugar

1 Part Honey/Oil

Optional: Coconut Oil. Adding a little bit of coconut oil helps moisturize your lips.

You can really customize this scrub. I used a light amount of lsfood dye to color it. Don’t add too much or it can dye your lips that color. I also added vanilla extract to add a nice taste to the scrub.

Mix the ingredients together and store it in a jar. Since all the ingredients are edible, after you scrub them on your lips, you can lick it off. If not your preference, wipe the scrub off
with a wet towel.

FM Title.jpg2. Face Mask

This DIY is also very simple but makes you face moisturized and soft. It includes many of the ingredients from the lip scrub. Sadly, I didn’t have the avocado with me for this recipe so I couldn’t make the DIY today.

1 Part Avocado

1 Part Honey

1/2 Part Yogurt

Optional: Coconut oil for extra hydration

Mix the ingredients in a bowl and apply to face. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and wash off with a wet towel.

HM Title.jpg3. Hair Mask

This hair mask is very basic but helps keep your hair strong and hydrated. All you need for this DIY is:Hair Mask.jpg

1 Egg

1 Part Milk

1/2 Part Lemon Juice

1/4 Part Oil

Optional: Coconut Oil; Great conditioner to soften hair.

Mix the ingredients together in a bowl. Apply to hair and let it sit for 10- 15 minutes. Rinse off in shower.

That is the 3 DIYS I will be showing you guys today. If you enjoyed, leave a like and follow my blog to get more ideas like this.

Winter Essentials

Cover.jpgHey guys. This blog post is all about winter essentials that will help you survive the freeze season. It’s January and at this time of the year it can get pretty cold. Here are some winter items that will be your best friend throughout winter.

Chapstick.jpgChapstick

Chapstick is huge for winter. At this time, my lips get very and cracked so I make sure I have a chapstick with me handy just in case I need it. I have lots of chapsticks but I have three favorites. The first one is Blistex. It helps soothe dry lips and makes your lips feel soft and moisturized. The next one is perfectlyposh lip balm. This balm has a great mint scent but also makes your lips very soft. The last one is Celestial peppermint chapstick. I actually got this from a tea package but it is my go to when I have chapped lips. It medicates my lips and leave them healing. Lotion is also important for this dry season.

BootsCombat Boots.jpg

Boots are a fashion staple for winter. You can style them Uggs.jpgwith almost anything; dresses, jeans, leggings, etc. Not only that, but they keep you warm. My favorite boots are Uggs or combat boots. Uggs are a great boot for when you have to walk through a day that’s cold but isn’t snowing heaps. They have fur inside that keeps  your feet really warm and are nice to style outfits with. I got mine from a shop in Australia. I also love combat boots because they have lots of styles; short, long, patterned, etc. I prefer short ones with jeans or leggings and they are waterproof so are perfect for snowy days. Just keep them away from the ice. 😉

Flannels

Flannel 1.jpg
Flannels/ Plaids are also a staple for winter. There is many styling alternatives to flannels. You can keep it buttoned up for a comfy day or leave it open with a t-shirt Flannel 2.jpgor a tank. Even in summer, you can throw a crop top on with a flannel for the rainy days. One of my favorite times I like to wear flannels are when there is lots of snow on the ground and you want to stay inside all day. Sadly, there is times I have to leave the house for things on days like these. I just throw on a flannel and get through the day. The flannel on the right is from Aeropostale and is a great flannel for throwing on over a shirt. The flannel on the left is from abercrombie kids. It’s super comfy and a great button down.
Beanies.jpg

Beanies/ Hats

Beanies are a great winter essential because they look great on with a coat and they keep you ears warm in the harsh winter. There are many designs and can go with almost any outfits. The beanie in the back is from kohls and is more of a bigger beanie but is really warm. The one up front is from Aeropostale and is a nice design with lots of warmth for my ears.

This was my first half of Winter Essentials. I will be doing four more essentials at another time in this month. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and if you did, leave a like and comment down below some of your essentials for winter.

Thank you,

Catie
